Club Contact

The new MP3 blog from London's club Contact. The idea is to allow people to hear new music they wouldn't have otherwise found but, if anyone has any copyright issues with a particular song, i'll take the link down. Songs are only available for a limited amount of time.

Hello and welcome

This is the new MP3 blog from the lovely people behind London's spectacular new club night Contact, currently at Madame JoJo's on the last Wednesday of every month. We'll be posting Mp3s of some of the hard-to-find records we play at our events and giving all those who can't be there a chance to hear what you are missing. The PR schtick goes something like this:

For such a cosmopolitan city, the pop clubs of London are surprisingly conservative. Contact at Madame JoJo's is set to change this, proving that when it comes to smart, stylish, heart-pounding, ass-shaking pop, there's more to life than New York, London, Paris and Munich. Mao may have said that revolution is not a dinner party but he didn't explicitly rule out the possibility of it being a pan-sexual disco explosion.

Whether it's the new wave of glittering Scandinavian synth-pop or the remarkable, cutting-edge sound of Japan's idols, we'll be destroying the image foreign music has of being inaccessible by spinning the freshest and most dynamic chart tunes the globe has to offer.

Where t.A.T.u led, we will follow. Decadent Moscow disco, the vibrant sound of young China, pulsating Korean gayo, the propulsive rhythms of Arabic radio.......there's a whole world waiting to be discovered.

Mixed in will be the cream of Anglo-American pop and the finest electro, courtesy of international playboys Shari Vari, Renfro and Storm as well as Stewart Turner, founder of Manchester's legendary TVOD club, whose trademark brand of synthetic sleaze could have been made for the Soho setting.

Exciting, eh? The next show is this Wednesday (the 28th) with Noblesse Oblige live.
