Club Contact

The new MP3 blog from London's club Contact. The idea is to allow people to hear new music they wouldn't have otherwise found but, if anyone has any copyright issues with a particular song, i'll take the link down. Songs are only available for a limited amount of time.

Fairlight Children

For my next trick, an excellent piece of retro-electropop from Fairlight Children. The group are the side project of Stephan Groth, lead singer of Norway's Apoptygma Berzerk who, despite being a bit more goth than this, sound nothing like you'd expect a Norwegian band called Apoptygma Berzerk to sound. I'm not sure their fine debut album 808 Bit was ever released in the UK but you can get it from Amazon.de

Is it just me needing hear aid or does that song sound very much like Tears For Fears (or Gary Jules)'s Mad World? It's pretty striking in the verse.

Besides, anyone should go and listen to Apoptygma Berzerk. In an ideal world, songs like 'Burnin' Heretic' should be instant pop classics.

    Good luch with the blog.
