Club Contact

The new MP3 blog from London's club Contact. The idea is to allow people to hear new music they wouldn't have otherwise found but, if anyone has any copyright issues with a particular song, i'll take the link down. Songs are only available for a limited amount of time.

As far as i am concerned, there is no pop star alive or dead that can compare to the remarkable Mylene Farmer. People often call her "France's Kate Bush" or "the French Madonna" but, incredible as those two are, they aren't in the same league. Although not exactly prolific, all her albums are absolutely essential, 2005's Avant Que L'Ombre included. Equally important are her stunning music videos - she has, more than anyone else, elevated the promo clip to the level of high art. She has never had a hit in the UK but masterminded the career of the last French-language star to make it into the top ten, Alizee.

This is Felix Da Housecat's brilliant assault on Je T'Aime Melancolie, from her most recent remix album.

Wow. That remix makes my favourite Mylene song even fiercer, which I didn't think was possible. Thank you!
